Donald Trump Jr. breaks silence on wedding delay rumors as White House plans face uncertainty

Donald Trump Jr. pushes back on wedding delay reports as speculation grows

A report suggesting that Donald Trump Jr. had postponed his wedding plans quickly drew attention this week—but the response from the groom-to-be was direct and unmistakable.

“News to me,” Trump Jr. wrote publicly, dismissing claims that his upcoming marriage to Bettina Anderson had been delayed.

The comment came after the New York Post shared a Page Six article on X on May 2, which cited unnamed sources claiming the couple had decided to pause their wedding until the “timing is right politically.”

According to that report, the pair had recently been seen out together in Jupiter, Florida, following what was described as a decision to hold off on setting a date.

Reports cite political timing and global concerns

Earlier coverage from Page Six had pointed to broader global circumstances as a factor influencing the alleged delay. Sources told the outlet that hosting a large-scale celebration—particularly one tied to the White House—could be poorly received amid ongoing international tensions.

“They’re very aware that a lavish wedding at the White House while people are dying wouldn’t be well-received,” one source claimed, adding that the couple wanted to avoid excessive “pomp and circumstance.”

The same source emphasized that Trump Jr. remains supportive of the relationship and wedding plans, stating that the couple intends to move forward but is being mindful about when to do so.

Celebration continues despite uncertainty

Despite the reports, recent events suggest preparations have continued in some form. In mid-April, Anderson hosted an elaborate bridal shower at Mar-a-Lago, attended by several members of the Trump family.

According to PEOPLE, Ivanka Trump and Tiffany Trump were present, along with Marla Maples, while first lady Melania Trump did not attend. A source described the event as “gorgeous,” noting that most of the gathering took place indoors, with some guests spending time outside.

Following the celebration, Anderson shared a message on Instagram reflecting on the occasion, writing that she felt grateful to be surrounded by close friends and expressing excitement about marrying Trump Jr.

White House venue remains under discussion

The couple’s potential wedding location has also drawn attention. PEOPLE previously reported that the White House had been considered as a possible venue, with one political source suggesting such a setting could align with future ambitions.

However, plans tied to that location face uncertainty. Construction on a proposed ballroom at the White House—intended for large-scale events—was halted after a federal judge ruled that congressional approval may be required to proceed.

With that project paused and no confirmed timeline in place, the feasibility of hosting a wedding at the White House remains unclear.

For now, while reports continue to circulate about timing and logistics, Trump Jr.’s brief but pointed response has introduced a competing narrative—one that challenges the idea that any delay has been formally decided.
