Kai Trump is focusing on recovery after undergoing surgery for a wrist injury sustained during her first tournament as a University of Miami golfer.
The 19-year-old shared a photograph from a hospital bed on Instagram on Wednesday, showing her left wrist in a large cast and sling. She said the decision followed discussions with her family, coaches and athletic training staff after she had hoped to avoid an operation.
Kai described surgery as the best choice for her long-term health and her future in golf, while acknowledging that recovery would change her plans for the coming months.
