The passing of Alan Osmond has prompted a deeply personal response from his sister, Marie Osmond, who is now reflecting on his final moments and the bond they shared.
Alan, a founding member of The Osmonds, died Monday at the age of 76. In a message shared publicly, Marie revealed that her brother was aware he was nearing the end and spoke with calm anticipation about what he believed awaited him.
“The last thing he said to me was: ‘I can’t wait to see brother Wayne, so we can be missionary companions together and start preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ…’” Marie shared, describing his final words as a reflection of his lifelong faith. She added, “That’s my brother Alan!! I love you so very much and will miss you dearly.”
A moment shaped by faith and family
Marie also described what she called a powerful and unexpected experience following his passing. In a quiet moment, she said she felt a connection to their late mother, Olive Osmond, which brought her comfort.
According to Marie, the feeling was as though her mother expressed joy about being reunited with her son, comparing it to the excitement of welcoming a child into the world. She described the moment as a “joyous reunion and rebirth,” adding that she believes Alan was “happy” when he passed.
Beyond his final days, Marie reflected on Alan’s role within the family, describing him as a guiding figure from an early age. She noted that he took on a leadership role at just 12 years old, carrying responsibilities that shaped both their personal lives and their shared career.
“He told me many times it felt like a mission… a long one, but I loved doing it,” she wrote, emphasizing his sense of duty and devotion. She added that what stood out most was his unwavering commitment to faith and family.

Tributes have also come from other members of the Osmond family, including Donny Osmond, who remembered Alan as a protector and constant source of support throughout their lives.
Alan Osmond is survived by his wife, Suzanne, their eight sons, and a large extended family. No official cause of death has been announced.
