Where Karoline Leavitt may raise her children after landing new Fox News role — New Hampshire home has a rare feature

Former White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt is beginning a new chapter in her professional and family life after leaving Washington, D.C., and returning to New Hampshire with her husband and two young children.

The 29-year-old, who stepped down from her White House position at the end of August, has landed a new role at Fox News, where she will begin appearing as an on-air contributor on November 1.

Her career move comes after she decided to devote more time to her children, Nicholas, known as Niko, and her baby daughter Viviana. The family has since returned to New Hampshire, where Leavitt grew up and began her political career.

And a Hampton property previously connected to Leavitt has attracted attention for an unusual feature that sets it apart from many homes in the surrounding neighborhood.

A New Hampshire property with a rare feature

During her 2022 congressional campaign, Leavitt’s publicly listed home address was associated with a property in Hampton, New Hampshire, a coastal community with longstanding connections to both her and her husband, real-estate businessman Nicholas Riccio.

The classic-style house is situated near downtown Hampton, with schools and a public library nearby. The New Hampshire coastline is also within a short bicycle ride, offering convenient access to the beach and surrounding community.

The residence features a covered front porch, a comfortable first-floor living room, separate kitchen and dining areas, and bedrooms located upstairs. Its basement includes a half bathroom and an additional room suitable for recreational activities.

However, the property’s standout feature is its expansive two-acre lot, which The Mirror reported is unusually large for the surrounding neighborhood.

The substantial parcel provides considerably more outdoor space than is typical for many nearby properties, while maintaining proximity to downtown Hampton and the coastline.

The location also has professional significance for Riccio, who built his real-estate business in New Hampshire. According to Realtor.com, he established Riccio Enterprises LLC after renovating rundown waterfront properties in Hampton Beach and transforming them into resort destinations.

Riccio was also reported to own nine rental homes in New Hampshire and another property in West Virginia.

Although the family’s return to New Hampshire has been reported, it has not been confirmed that Leavitt and Riccio currently reside in the specific Hampton house associated with her earlier congressional campaign.

A new television career after leaving the White House

Leavitt’s return to New Hampshire follows another significant development: her appointment as an official Fox News contributor.

The network announced that she would begin her new position on November 1, appearing across its news and opinion programming. Her responsibilities will involve providing political commentary informed by her experience in government and presidential campaigning.

Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott welcomed Leavitt to the network, highlighting her firsthand knowledge of the White House and national politics.

“Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape,” Scott said.

Leavitt expressed gratitude for the opportunity and said she intended to bring the same energy and candor that characterized her previous work to her television appearances.

Her appointment follows a similar career path taken by Kayleigh McEnany, who joined Fox News in 2021 after serving as President Donald Trump’s White House press secretary.

The position also allows Leavitt to remain publicly involved in political discussions after leaving a government role that required constant availability.

Why Leavitt decided to put her children first

Leavitt announced her resignation on August 12, 2026, explaining that the demanding responsibilities of serving as White House press secretary had become increasingly difficult to balance with motherhood.

She described her approximately 18 months in the administration as “the honor and adventure of a lifetime,” recalling her experiences working in the West Wing, traveling internationally and meeting foreign leaders.

However, the birth of her second child, Viviana, on May 1 brought her family priorities into sharper focus.

Leavitt explained that she could no longer devote the constant time and attention required by the position while being the mother she wanted to be to her two children.

Her first experience with motherhood had already demonstrated how demanding political life could become.

When Niko was born in July 2024, Leavitt returned to Trump’s presidential campaign just four days later following the assassination attempt against him in Butler, Pennsylvania.

She later told Megyn Kelly that the circumstances brought her back to work considerably sooner than she had anticipated or wanted.

Following the birth of Viviana and her subsequent return from maternity leave, Leavitt reached a different conclusion.

She described leaving the White House as a bittersweet decision, acknowledging how much she valued the position while emphasizing her love for her children.

Trump confirmed that Leavitt would remain among his trusted outside advisers. She also announced plans to continue working with MAGA Inc., where she had previously served as a spokesperson.

The Washington residence the family left behind

Before returning to New Hampshire, Leavitt lived with Riccio and their children in a Craftsman Colonial-style Washington, D.C., residence, according to a March 2025 report from The Mirror.

Built in 2003, the property reportedly includes a swimming pool, landscaped gardens, a patio and large windows that provide abundant natural light.

Inside, the principal floor features hardwood flooring and 10-foot ceilings. Family photographs previously shared by Leavitt revealed bright interiors, white furnishings and spacious living areas.

The living room includes a fireplace, sofa and armchair, while French doors connect the dining room to a private deck.

The kitchen reportedly contains stainless-steel appliances, terrazzo countertops, two pantries and a farmhouse sink. Photographs of Leavitt holding Niko also revealed white cabinetry, pendant lighting and dark fixtures.

Despite the residence’s polished appearance, family photographs showed ordinary moments of motherhood, with baby bottles and household items visible around the kitchen.

The home also reportedly includes a library suitable for use as an office, a guest bedroom and bathroom on the main floor, and a primary suite upstairs with high ceilings, a large closet, dual vanities, a spa tub and a separate shower.

Additional bedrooms, a laundry room, a garage and a covered carport complete the property’s reported features.

Family photographs reveal a more personal side

Some of Leavitt’s most personal social-media photographs offered glimpses of the rooms prepared for her children during the family’s time in Washington.

Niko’s nursery featured soft blue walls, a white crib, a large white dresser and a circular sunburst mirror. A personalized sign displaying “NICHOLAS” hung above the crib, while a light-colored rug covered part of the hardwood floor.

The room reflected the bright, neutral decorating style visible throughout the residence.

Other photographs documented important family milestones, including Leavitt’s second pregnancy.

In one holiday image, she posed beside a Christmas tree decorated with red, white and silver ornaments. Another featured an ultrasound photograph beside a small shirt bearing the words “BABY SIS,” announcing that Niko would become an older brother.

The photographs provided a glimpse of the family life Leavitt later said she wanted to prioritize.

Now, with a new Fox News position and her family’s return to New Hampshire, Leavitt is moving forward with a career that will keep her in the public eye while beginning a different chapter at home.

Although the exact New Hampshire residence where the family is currently living has not been confirmed, the Hampton property previously associated with Leavitt highlights her longstanding ties to the state — and its unusually spacious two-acre lot remains one of its most distinctive characteristics.
