Chad Lowe’s daughter shared a final dance video weeks before her death at 13 – Watch video

Fiona Lowe’s final Instagram Reel showed her doing something her family, classmates and teacher would repeatedly mention when remembering her: dancing.

Posted in August, weeks before her death at 13, the video remains part of the account she left behind. According to Ondoho’s coverage, it was the last post on her Instagram page and carried no farewell message.

The clip records Fiona’s love of dance, a passion also reflected in the memories shared by people who knew her.

The daughter of actor Chad Lowe and Kim Painter, Fiona grew up alongside her sisters, Mabel and Nixie. Following her death, their family described her as loving, intelligent and creative, calling her “the light of our lives.”

Her teacher remembers the work behind the performances

Dance teacher Kendra Andrews offered a more detailed account of Fiona’s commitment to the studio in a tribute reported by Us Weekly.

Andrews recalled seeing Fiona return to dance around a month after the Lowe family lost their Pacific Palisades home in the Los Angeles fires. She remembered her student arriving with enthusiasm, a bright smile and a warm hug.

During a subsequent rehearsal a few weeks later, Andrews noticed the progress Fiona had made. Her improvements showed that she had continued working on the choreography outside their lessons.

Fiona later performed the routine onstage. Andrews said she watched from the wings, proud of the preparation and determination her student had brought to the performance.

Those recollections describe the practice behind Fiona’s dancing, adding context to the interest captured in her August video.

Her father had also documented the family’s experience after the fire, sharing photographs of his daughters returning to their damaged home. In comments reported by People, he praised their resilience and emphasized his commitment to helping them through the loss.

Mabel’s tribute reaches back through their childhood

Fiona’s older sister, 17-year-old Mabel, shared her own remembrance on October 3, posting childhood photographs and videos of the two growing up together.

The collection included memories connected to dance, alongside moments from their years as sisters.

“I wish your short time here was easier, and I hope your mind is at ease now,” Mabel wrote, according to People.

She also promised to continue honoring Fiona and preserving her memory, telling her younger sister how deeply she loved her.

Mabel’s post remembered their relationship across childhood, bringing together memories from well before Fiona’s final summer.

Chad had previously spoken about the importance of raising his three daughters. During a conversation on Still Here Hollywood, he described fatherhood as a privilege and explained that his daughters had encouraged him to consider the world from their perspectives.

Friends remember her kindness and creativity

Accounts from Fiona’s school community also emphasized her interests and relationships.

A source told Page Six that she was well liked and had many friends. People speaking to People remembered a quiet, kind teenager with an artistic nature and identified dance as her greatest passion.

Some of her friends stayed home from school while grieving, according to that reporting.

The Los Angeles Times subsequently reported that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed Fiona’s death was a suicide.

The August Reel contains no explanation of her death. Its subject is her dancing, while the later tributes describe the student, sister and daughter people remembered.

Together, those accounts preserve different parts of Fiona’s life: the routines she practiced, the friendships she formed and the childhood she shared with her family. Her final Instagram video adds a moment she chose to share herself.
