Bret Baier is a familiar face to Fox News viewers, but away from the camera, the Special Report anchor shares his life with his wife, Amy, and their two sons.
The couple met on a blind date in 2001 and married three years later. Their family has since faced a significant medical journey: their oldest son, Paul, was born with serious heart defects and has undergone four open-heart surgeries.
The experience also helped shape Amy’s work as a children’s health advocate.
A blind date that led to marriage
Bret and Amy were introduced by mutual friends in September 2001. Amy later told Country Magazine that their friends believed the two would be a good match, though they also offered her a playful warning.
“They did warn me, though, to buckle up – that a life with Bret Baier would be an interesting ride,” she said.
