Emily Compagno has officially closed an important chapter of her Fox News career, delivering an emotional farewell to Outnumbered after nearly six years on the daytime program.
The 46-year-old addressed viewers during her final appearance on Friday, thanking the audience and the team that worked alongside her as she prepared to move into a permanent position on The Five.
Compagno will begin her new role on Tuesday, joining Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino and Jesse Watters as a full-time co-host of one of Fox News’ biggest programs.

Compagno fought back emotion as she reflected on the years she spent helping deliver and discuss the day’s news from the Outnumbered couch.
“And now everyone watching, after almost six years, I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to all of you at home who trusted me to help deliver and analyze the news every day at noon ET,” she said.
Her appreciation extended beyond the viewers who had followed the program. Compagno also recognized the people responsible for producing Outnumbered each day, specifically mentioning executive producer Trina Thompson.
She praised the crew and production team for their “dedication, professionalism, and sheer talent,” crediting their work for the program’s continued success.
“It has been an extraordinary privilege and an honor to serve as a co-host of ‘Outnumbered’,” Compagno said.
She then marked the transition to the next stage of her Fox News career with a simple message to viewers: “From now on, see you at 5:00.”

Compagno’s colleagues made clear that her departure was an emotional one for the program as well.
In a farewell shared through the official Outnumbered account on X, the show thanked her for nearly six years of memorable moments, laughter and insight.
“You’ll be deeply missed, Emily — but we couldn’t be happier to watch you take this next incredible step,” the message read. “The Five is lucky to have you!”
Her departure leaves an opening on the lunchtime program. Fox previously announced that other network personalities will rotate through Compagno’s former position until a permanent replacement is chosen.

Compagno’s move represents a significant promotion within the network.
Fox News Media announced the decision last month, with CEO Suzanne Scott describing Compagno as a “standout” and praising the “energy and talent” she has demonstrated across Fox.
Compagno also expressed her excitement when the move was initially announced, describing the opportunity to permanently join a program she had long admired as an “incredible privilege.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity and can’t wait to get started,” she said.
Her new permanent position places her at the table of a program that Fox says has ranked as cable news’ highest-rated show for 19 consecutive quarters.
According to Nielsen figures cited in the report, The Five averaged 3.6 million viewers during the second quarter of 2026. Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov rotate in the program’s liberal seat.
From Fox contributor to permanent Five co-host
Compagno’s latest move comes eight years after she first joined Fox News as a contributor in 2018.
She became a permanent co-host of Outnumbered in 2021, establishing herself as a regular presence on the network’s daytime schedule before securing her latest role.
Now, after nearly six years on the Outnumbered couch, she is leaving the program behind for a permanent place at The Five table.
