Lukaku: ‘Roma? One call was enough. I have faith in this team. With Mourinho we can achieve big things.’

Romelu Lukaku spoke on his arrival to AS Roma, relationship with Mourinho and the season ahead:

Speaking to Serie A channel, Romelu Lukaku discussed his arrival at Roma, his relationship with Mourinho, and the expectations he has for his season in the Giallorossi colors:

I have faith in this team. We need to work together to perform well, stay humble, keep our heads down, and work hard every day to try to achieve good results. That’s my way of doing things, and I hope to help the team achieve the best,” continued the former Inter player.

“When we were close to the agreement with Roma, many people around me started telling me that people in Rome were really excited. I was truly focused on arriving in good shape, and when I arrived, the way the fans waited for me… oh man, I really wanted to savor the moment, it excited me, and it gave me great motivation to give my all to this team.

Just one call was enough; the owners called me a few days before the agreement, and we talked for about half an hour about the club’s ambition, and from there, everything happened very quickly. Now, the serious stuff begins, the season is heating up.”

Regarding Mourinho, he emphasized once again: “Since I was 11 years old, I wanted to work with him. I can say that for the third time. He knows me as a man, knows my family, and I know him. Together, we can achieve great things. We have a good team; we need to work and see how we can improve with each game.”
