Megyn Kelly, 55, reveals her secret to maintaining her physique during menopause

Megyn Kelly is sharing new insight into her health routine, revealing how a mix of structured workouts, balanced nutrition, and lifestyle habits have helped her feel stronger and more energized at 55.

Just days after discussing the benefits of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) in helping her navigate menopause, Kelly detailed the daily practices she credits for maintaining her physical and mental well-being.

In comments to the Daily Mail, the political commentator explained that her fitness routine centers around consistency rather than intensity. She currently works with a trainer twice a week for 45-minute sessions, while also adding one or two solo workouts when possible.

Kelly emphasized that her approach avoids heavy cardio, instead focusing on lighter activity like walking or using the elliptical.

A Shift Toward Sustainable Fitness

Kelly acknowledged that her relationship with exercise has changed significantly over the years. After previously stepping away from consistent workouts while raising her three children with husband Douglas Brunt, she has since adopted a more balanced and manageable routine.

She has also incorporated other wellness habits, including regular sauna use. According to her, she uses a sauna at least four times per week, describing it as a practice she enjoys.

In earlier years, Kelly openly admitted to avoiding exercise, even joking about it during her time on television. However, by 2023, she had begun embracing structured fitness again, including a digital workout program called “The Class,” which she said helped improve her physique and build muscle definition.

A Mediterranean-Inspired Diet

Kelly’s nutrition plan now largely follows a Mediterranean-style diet, centered on whole foods such as fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and healthy fats. She told the Daily Mail that her typical breakfast includes eggs with sourdough toast and either avocado or fruit.

Lunch and dinner are usually made up of lean protein paired with vegetables, while snacks often consist of salted nuts without seed oils. She also allows herself occasional treats, noting that she sometimes enjoys a small portion of Häagen-Dazs ice cream at night.

Evolving Perspective on Health and Body Image

Kelly has been candid about her past struggles with body image and dieting. In earlier years, she described restrictive eating habits during her teenage years and shared that weight concerns affected multiple members of her family.

Over time, she said her approach to food and fitness has become healthier and more sustainable, even as she continues to navigate body image pressures.

She has also experimented with different diets throughout her life, including the F-Factor diet, which focuses on high-fiber foods combined with lean protein.

Today, Kelly’s routine reflects a more measured and realistic approach, balancing fitness, nutrition, and personal well-being as she continues to adapt her lifestyle.
