The Fox News correspondent opened up about the loss in an Instagram post, reflecting on the memories they shared and the comfort his companion brought to his family during another difficult time.
“Broken hearted this weekend,” Melugin wrote. “We said goodbye to our sweet boy Axel yesterday.”
Axel, the family’s beloved dog, had been by their side for 12 years and helped them through the loss of Bill’s father.
