The star said she and her husband started with the cake and then went into “with two small champagne flutes” to start the day
Jamie Lee Curtis celebrated her 66th birthday with a thoughtful gesture from her husband, Christopher Guest. On November 22, she shared a photo on Instagram of a simple birthday cake decorated with a candle and the words โHappy Birthday JLC!โ written in red.
Curtis described the moment as the โperfect birthday wake up,โ sharing that her morning started peacefully at 3:45 a.m. in a quiet house with her dog and sleeping husband nearby. She added that Guest woke up to bring her the cake, which they enjoyed together with two champagne flutes.
The actress and Guest have been married since 1984, with their 40th anniversary approaching on December 18. Curtis also gave a nod to the artist Moye Thompson, who created the bowl in her post, featuring the poem โTo Be of Useโ by Marge Piercy on its exterior.
What did she say for her birthday
Jamie Lee Curtis has been vocal about embracing aging and shared her perspective during an appearance on the Today show earlier this year. Reflecting on turning 65, the actress described the milestone as both โa moment of reflection and excitement.โ
โI feel more excited, more turned on creatively,โ Curtis said in January. โI have a new book. Iโm heading to go make a movie. I got to be in a TV show. Iโm having a creative time.โ
She also spoke about self-acceptance and how her approach to aging has evolved. โIโm much less hard on myself,โ she admitted. โIโm very much in acceptance of what I look like and I own what I think and feel. And that, to me, is what maturity is.โ
Curtisโs perspective highlights how sheโs embracing this chapter of life with confidence and creativity, focusing on her accomplishments and the freedom that comes with self-acceptance.
