A recent television appearance by Donald Trump is making headlines for all the unexpected reasons — after a serious policy discussion suddenly turned into a flirty on-air moment with Fox News host Dana Perino.
A Flirty Moment That Stole the Spotlight
Trump called into The Five for what began as a conversation about conditions in Iran, but it didn’t take long for the tone to shift.
Perino had asked a straightforward and serious question about civilians caught in the conflict, saying, “Do you have any insight as to how they are doing? Do they have drinking water? Do they have food? It’s upsetting.”
Trump replied, “I do,” appearing ready to address the issue — before abruptly changing direction.
“But first. Remember when we had lunch years ago in the base of Trump Tower when it was a brand new building?” he said, catching Perino off guard.
He continued with a smile in his voice, “You haven’t changed. I’m not allowed to say this. It’s the end of my political career, but you may be even better looking, okay? So, I don’t know what you’re doing.”
Perino laughed and played along, responding, “Fox hair and makeup has a lot to do with it.” But Trump wasn’t done.
“I will not say that because that will end my political career. You are not allowed to say a woman is beautiful anymore,” he added, before turning to co-host Jesse Watters and warning, “You know that, Jesse. You have to be careful.”
The lighthearted, slightly awkward exchange quickly became the standout moment of the interview — and is now what everyone is talking about.
From Serious Question to Viral Clip
What made the moment even more striking was how sharply it contrasted with the topic at hand. Perino’s question focused on humanitarian concerns, yet the conversation briefly veered into playful territory before returning to policy.
The interview later touched on intelligence claims, with Trump stating the CIA had suggested Iran’s new leader “may be gay,” adding that “a lot of people are saying that.”
At the same time, the Human Rights Activists News Agency has reported that 1,492 people have been killed since the conflict began, underscoring the gravity of the situation behind the headlines.
Tensions Continue Despite Pause
Outside of the viral moment, Trump also announced a temporary pause on U.S. strikes targeting Iran’s energy infrastructure.
In a social media statement, he said the delay would last ten days, extending the deadline for negotiations to April 6, 2026.
He said the decision came “as per Iranian Government request” and insisted that talks are ongoing and “going very well.”
The pause follows an earlier five-day halt and comes alongside a 15-point peace plan that Iran has rejected. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said indirect exchanges through mediators should not be viewed as formal negotiations.
Oil markets reacted quickly, with Brent crude rising 5.7 percent to $108 per barrel and U.S. West Texas Intermediate climbing 4.6 percent to $95.
Still, despite the high-stakes diplomacy and ongoing conflict, it’s Trump’s unexpected on-air flirtation with Perino that is dominating the conversation — turning a policy interview into a viral moment.
