Lara Trump reveals the workout routine and high-protein diet behind her muscular physique after sparking AI rumors

Lara Trump has shared the workout habits and nutrition plan she says help her maintain the muscular physique that recently attracted widespread attention online.

The Fox News host and wife of Eric Trump opened up about her daily fitness routine during a July 21 appearance on The Riley Gaines Show, explaining that consistency, variety and a focus on protein have remained central to her approach to health.

Host Riley Gaines said many viewers wanted to know how Lara has achieved her athletic build after recent social media photos sparked a wave of reactions.

Responding to those questions, Lara said exercise has been a priority throughout her life, even on days when she has only a short amount of time to train.

“My entire life, I’ve always worked out, I’ve always prioritized that for myself, even if it’s 45 minutes or 30 minutes,” she said.

Mixing workouts to stay active

Rather than following a single training method, Lara explained that she prefers to change her workouts regularly.

She said her routine includes weightlifting, CrossFit, cycling, running and Pilates whenever her schedule allows. She also trains for triathlons, adding that she likes to stay prepared in case a new challenge comes along.

Lara said changing workouts keeps her body from adapting to one type of exercise and has become one of the keys to her fitness routine.

She also described working out as beneficial for both her physical and mental well-being.

According to Lara, mornings are usually reserved for exercise. She said her goal is to complete her workout before the rest of the day’s commitments begin, revealing that she normally trains at 5 a.m. and has occasionally started as early as 3:45 a.m. before catching a flight.

A protein-focused approach to nutrition

Lara also discussed how she approaches her diet while balancing a busy travel schedule.

She acknowledged that eating well can be difficult while on the road but said she consistently prioritizes protein. Breakfast often includes eggs, egg whites or a protein shake to start the day.

She encouraged people to increase their protein intake and include strength training in their routines, saying that building muscle helps the body burn more calories.

During the conversation, Lara also spoke about wellness habits she shares with her husband, Eric Trump, including sauna sessions and cold plunges.

She said the greatest benefit of cold-water immersion is the mental challenge, explaining that pushing through discomfort strengthens resilience beyond the physical effects alone.

Social media attention sparks new interest

Lara’s interview followed weeks of online discussion after she posted an Instagram photo that highlighted her toned arms and abdominal muscles.

Some followers praised her physique, while others questioned whether the image had been created using artificial intelligence.

The attention came months after Lara launched the Lara Trump Collection, a fitness apparel brand introduced in November 2024. She previously said the inspiration behind the line was to demonstrate that women “could do anything the guys could do.”

She also credited the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement with encouraging more people to take an interest in fitness, nutrition and overall wellness. For Lara, that commitment begins with regular exercise, a high-protein diet and maintaining healthy habits regardless of how busy life becomes.
