Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn’s relationship: five years of marriage and a growing family
Five years after quietly exchanging vows, Peter Doocy and Hillary Vaughn remain one of the most closely followed couples within the Fox News network. While the pair have not publicly marked the milestone, their April 2021 wedding now stands as the foundation of a partnership that has continued to evolve both on and off camera.

The two journalists first crossed paths in a professional setting, meeting while working at Fox News. At the time, Doocy had already joined the network as a general assignment reporter in 2009 before later becoming a senior White House correspondent. Vaughn, meanwhile, began her role on the business desk in 2016.
Despite working in the public eye, the couple chose to keep the early stages of their relationship largely private, only sharing select moments once their lives became more intertwined.
A wedding shaped by unusual circumstances
Their marriage took place in April 2021 at Montage Palmetto Bluff in Bluffton, South Carolina. According to comments shared by Doocy’s father, Steve Doocy, on Fox & Friends, the ceremony had originally been planned for January but was postponed due to pandemic-related restrictions.

The final event reflected those limitations. The guest list was reduced to just 18 people, creating a smaller and more intimate gathering than initially envisioned. At the outdoor reception, Doocy wore a navy tuxedo while Vaughn chose a long-sleeved gown with floral detailing, as seen in images later shared on their social media.
Not long after their wedding, the couple began sharing major personal milestones with viewers. In September 2022, during a segment on Fox & Friends, they revealed they were expecting their first child. The announcement came during a conversation about The Simply Happy Cookbook, when Vaughn responded to a comment about her appetite by saying, “That’s because I’m eating for two,” as a sonogram appeared on screen.
Their daughter, Bridget Blake Doocy, was born on February 1, 2023, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the couple. Vaughn later told People magazine that her water broke while she was on her way to work on Capitol Hill.

“I knew where all the offices were for senators who used to be doctors. Luckily, I didn’t have to call [them] to catch the baby!” she said.
Two years later, their family grew again. Their son, George, was born on April 16, 2025, following a routine medical appointment while Vaughn was reporting on Capitol Hill. She told People that she had been covering tax-related developments before learning that the baby “was ready to come out,” joking, “Maybe he was tired of hearing me talk about taxes — I don’t blame him!”
After his birth, Vaughn reflected on the experience of raising two children, telling People, “It has been such a blessing to welcome our son to this world and it is just as special to see Bridget welcome her baby brother George. Growing our family means giving our kids lifelong best friends and as a new heartbeat fills our home, our hearts are filled with more love than ever before.”
Balancing careers and life beyond the newsroom
Alongside their growing family, both Doocy and Vaughn have continued to expand their professional roles. Doocy was recently selected to co-host Fox News’ morning program The Sunday Briefing alongside Jacqui Heinrich, while Vaughn continues her work as a Washington-based correspondent for the FOX Business Network.

Vaughn has also spoken about how her career has shaped her approach to motherhood. Reflecting on life after welcoming her first child, she told People that years of reporting had prepared her in unexpected ways.
“I didn’t realize this until now, but I’ve been training for motherhood my entire career by trying to get lawmakers on Capitol Hill to respond to my questions,” she said. “This job isn’t much different. ‘Baby Bridget — can you give us a comment? Are you hungry or gassy, or both?’ Trying to get an on-the-record answer is tough!”
Doocy, for his part, has emphasized the importance of preserving family memories. Ahead of his first Father’s Day in 2023, he told People that capturing photos and videos was something he valued deeply, a lesson he said he learned from his own parents.
Five years after their wedding, their story reflects a steady balance between high-profile careers and a private family life that continues to grow.
