A University of Georgia student survived a fall from an eighth-floor apartment window Saturday evening, suffering several broken bones after landing near the complex’s pool.
Kristin Sargent, 21, had been celebrating the Georgia Bulldogs’ 41–13 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners. Witnesses told police she was dancing near an open window before falling, according to reporting by The US Sun.

Police accounts indicate the fall was accidental, although the precise circumstances remain unclear.
Her father, Richard Sargent, told Channel 2 Action News that a friend alerted him to what had happened. He rushed to the hospital, where he found his daughter seriously injured but alive.

Richard described Kristin as “pretty badly beaten up” when he reached her bedside. Despite her injuries, he expressed gratitude that she had survived and confidence in her resilience.
