“I have decided that this will be my last week at CNN,” Solomon said on air, marking the end of her time with the network. While she did not disclose her next move, she made it clear that a transition is already underway, adding, “More to come on what’s next for me, but I’m really excited about this next chapter.”

A farewell marked by gratitude and reflection

During her final remarks, Solomon reflected on her experience at CNN, pointing to the major economic stories she has covered, including inflation and employment trends.

She expressed appreciation for her colleagues across the organization, emphasizing the collaborative nature of her work.

“I am so proud to have worked here alongside you,” she said, addressing both her immediate team and the broader newsroom. She also noted that she intends to remain an engaged viewer moving forward, adding, “To the larger team here at CNN, I’m gonna be cheering you on – I look forward to watching.”

Her closing comments underscored the significance of her role, as she described her time at the network as an honor and highlighted her work as a business correspondent.

CNN responds as Solomon prepares for what’s next

CNN acknowledged Solomon’s departure in a statement, offering public support for her decision.

“We are grateful to Rahel for all her contributions to CNN over the past four years and are supportive of her decision,” a network spokesperson said. The statement also extended well wishes for her future, signaling a positive and professional separation.

Solomon, who is based in New York City, joined CNN in 2023 as a business correspondent for CNN International. Prior to that, she built her reporting career at CNBC as a general news reporter and earlier served as a morning anchor at CBS affiliate KYW-TV in Philadelphia.

Her time at CNN also coincided with major personal milestones. She married in 2024 and welcomed her first child the following year. In December, she described motherhood as “my greatest gift yet,” sharing that she stepped away from social media for six months to fully focus on that experience.

With her departure now confirmed, Solomon leaves behind a notable run at CNN as she prepares to reveal the next phase of her career.
