Thiaw, Tomori and Kalulu out for a long time. Milan to bring another low-cost defender in January.

The Rossoneri insist with Villarreal to bring back the 1999-born player six months earlier than planed, currently on loan in Spain until the end of the season.

There are negotiations for Gabbia’s return from Vilarreall. The club owned by Gerry Cardinale intends to make another acquisition in defense, a department affected by injuries (the latest being Tomori, out for at least a month).

Milan, facing an increasing defensive crisis after Tomori’s injury (out due to a hamstring injury), is eager to be proactive in the market. The aim is to provide coach Pioli with new additions to support a defense that is already burdened by the long-term absences of Thiaw and Kalulu.

The Rossoneri management is pushing harder to expedite the return of Matteo Gabbia in January, currently on loan at Villarreal. The 1999-born player has played all six Europa League matches with the Spanish team, starting in five, and has appeared in 7 Liga matches.

OTHER OPTIONS

In addition to the negotiations for Gabbia’s return, Milan intends to make another defensive move. Several profiles are under consideration, including Lenglet, owned by Barcelona but on loan to Aston Villa this season. In recent days, Thilo Kehrer, ex PSG and currently with West Ham, has also been proposed. Milan is evaluating Nordi Mukiele from Paris Saint-Germain, a full-back who can also play as a central defender when needed. He could be a valuable utility player capable of performing well in almost all defensive positions.
