Between his arrival at Inter and the ambitions of winning the Scudetto, Marcus Thuram opens up to Sky Sport in black discussing many interesting topics in the process.
Between his arrival at Inter and the ambitions of winning the Scudetto, Marcus Thuram shares his story with Sky Sport. In an interview with the famous broadcaster, the French forward talked about his first part of the season with his new team:
“My arrival here was a special moment for me: a new experience, discovering a new team, a new league, and a new city. I try to learn new things everyday and enjoy every second of my experience. It is the best choice I have made so far.”
How did your transfer to Inter become a reality
“I had already spoken with Piero Ausilio (Inter’s director), two years ago, before getting injured. He saw me as a center forward before anyone else, that made me think that Inter was the best choice for me.”
What about your partner Lautaro Martinez?
“He is a champion, he is among the best forwards in the world right now. Playing with him is easy, he makes you a better player.”
When asked who will win the Scudetto:
“It’s NOT a two-horse race, also because we don’t play against Juventus every weekend (laughs). There are more teams that can attack the title; we’ll see at the end of the season.”
What Would you choose between the Scudetto, Champions League, or the European Championship with France?
“I decide to stay silent, If I say what I want, it won’t come true.”
On his relationship with his father (Lilian Thuram)
“I often talk to my father about football, life, and how to grow as a person. He has helped me a lot to become the person I am today. A special piece of advice he gave me? To do what I love and enjoy what I do when I step on the field. He taught me respect for people, that we are all equal, and we all have to live together.
And your brother Kephren?
I tell him to play and try to become stronger with every training session and every game, and I’m proud of him.”
What does Inter represent for you?
As for Inter, I knew it was a great team, among the most important in the world. I knew I had to do well, but this was an extra motivation.
Who were your idols growing up?
Thierry Henry, Adriano, Ronaldo. They all had one thing in common: they dribbled past opponents and scored goals.
The toughest opponent you have faced?
I haven’t faced all the best defenders in the world yet, but the one that made me think and become a better player was Dayot Upamecano.”
What is your favorite goal?
Well, maybe the one in the derby against Milan: and by that I don’t mean just the shot, but the sound of the stadium I heard when the ball went in. Incredible feeling.
Messi?
The greatest player in the history of football, but when I was little, I didn’t know he was Messi; I just saw him as Dad’s teammate.”
