The Slovak defender takes a jab at his former team saying that he finally is where he always wanted to be
Milan Skriniar, interviewed by PSG’s official channels, sends a message of love to his current club with a statement that, however, also seems like a jab at Inter: “How am I? I feel really good. Finally, I am where I wanted to be, and I have worked really hard for this.”
The Slovak defender is likely referring to the failed transfer that occurred last January when Inter didn’t allow him to join the french Champions.
Knowing that he could have been Inter’s captain had he stayed, these words are certainly not peacmaking. But they are a continuation of those spoken before the Champions League match between PSG and Milan when he said: “Marotta says what he says (about the renewal that never came), I don’t want to create chaos and controversies, I know how it went, and so does my agent. Now It’s not the time to talk; I don’t want to stir up trouble.”
Skriniar then talked about the differences between Italian and French football he said: “In Ligue 1, there are many strong, fast, and physical players the game is different and there are many one on one situations. In Serie A, the game is more tactical.”
About his partnership with Marquinhos: “He also speaks Italian, so we understood each other right away; we get along very well, and that’s a good thing. For me, he is one of the best central defenders in the world; I thought that even before coming here.”
Finally, on Luis Enrique: “We want to have the ball and control the game. It’s the ideal playing style because when you have possession, your opponent has to run without the ball to try to regain it and gets tired.”
