Janice Dean has shared a new health update after a recent hospital stay, telling followers that she is still recovering from an illness that “knocked me off my feet.”
The former Fox & Friends meteorologist also spoke about the comfort she has found in prayer and thanked the people who have sent her messages of support.
“Still on the mend. This illness has knocked me off my feet,” Dean wrote in an Instagram post. “But I’m saying lots of prayers and I know God is leading the way.”
Her message drew another outpouring of love from followers, who sent prayers and wished her a speedy recovery.
Janice says she is still recovering
Dean’s latest post offered a brief look at how she has been feeling since previously telling followers that she had spent the night in hospital for tests.
Alongside her update, she expressed gratitude to the people who have stood by her during a difficult period.
“Thank you all for your words of support and kindness. I feel the love,” she wrote.
The former Fox News meteorologist did not identify the illness in her new message or provide further details about a diagnosis. Her words did, however, make clear that she is still on the mend.
Dean had previously asked followers to send prayers her way, writing, “If you guys could send some prayers my way I’d appreciate it. Thank you.”
Her recent hospital stay
Before the prayer request, Dean told supporters she had gone to hospital for tests because she had not been feeling well. She stayed overnight and said she felt overwhelmed and nervous.
During that visit, she was moved by the kindness of a nurse named Marie, who straightened her bedding, brought her a warm blanket and fresh pillow, and listened as she explained how she was feeling.
“I started to cry as she tucked the blanket around my legs because it was such a simple but profound act of kindness,” Dean wrote.
She later returned home, where she said her sons were taking care of her. At the time, she told followers that doctors did not yet have “solid answers” about why she felt so unwell.
The recent health updates follow Dean’s departure from Fox News after 22 years. During her emotional farewell on Fox & Friends, she explained that her multiple sclerosis symptoms had progressed and made the demands of her early-morning schedule too difficult to maintain.
Dean has not said that her recent illness or hospital stay was caused by multiple sclerosis.
Fans surround Janice with support
Followers filled the comments beneath Dean’s latest post with prayers, virtual hugs and wishes for her health.
“Praying for your health and Wishing you well Janice,” one person wrote. Another told her, “Thinking of you and wishing you a speedy recovery.”
Others shared messages of encouragement. “You will always be sunshine! Stay strong,” one follower wrote, while another said, “Praying for you and your sweet family.”
A fellow follower living with multiple sclerosis also offered support, writing that they had been having a difficult time with the condition themselves and were sending Dean continued prayers.
The post had received more than 4,500 likes in the screenshot, with supporters continuing to send their love as the former meteorologist recovers.
