Simone Inzaghi, Inter’s coach, spoke to Sky Sport after the victory against Empoli. Here are his words:

Arnautovic? It’s definitely the negative note of the day; he felt a muscle pull. He’s very important to us, and we’ll lose him for a while. It’s unfortunate because he had integrated well into the group; unfortunately, these things happen, and we’re sorry about it.”

“We were playing against a team with strong motivations, and we prepared an excellent game in just two and a half days. We should have closed the game out earlier; then we were down to 10 men because of an injury, and we suffered a bit in the last minutes.”

I’m always focused on the job. In football, judgments change from one game to another. I’m proud to coach Inter, and I know the path we’ve taken in last two years. We’ve had a good start, but now we need to look ahead. There’s a series of intense matches coming up, and we’ll have to be recovering well now.”

“When you play so much, it’s not always easy to stay sharp. The pitch wasn’t easy today, but we came in focused, and we needed to be more aggressive in seeking the goal that would have eased the tension. Dimarco’s goal helped us, but we should have scored the second one.”
