Dolly Parton’s health has sparked concern and now her sister Freida Parton is making an emotional plea that’s grabbing hearts across the country.
As fans reel from the announcement that Dolly’s Las Vegas residency has been postponed until September 2026, Freida took to Facebook on October 7, with a deeply personal update. “Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” she wrote. “Many of you know she hasn’t been feeling her best lately.”
Postponed Shows, Unspoken Worries
The 79-year-old icon had been scheduled to perform six concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace later this year. But on September 28, Dolly broke the news herself: “I want the fans and public to hear directly from me… I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”

While she didn’t specify what the procedures were, she did joke in her usual charming way that it felt like time for her “100,000-mile check-up.”
“Although it’s not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon,” she added with a wink. “I just need a little time to get show ready.”
A Sister’s Faith, A Family’s Pain
Freida Parton didn’t hold back. “I truly believe in the power of prayer,” she said. “And I have been led to ask all of the world that loves her to be prayer warriors and pray with me… She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being lifted for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine.”

The public response was swift and emotional. Messages poured in across social media — “Protect this queen at all costs,” wrote one fan, while others simply said “Heal strong, Queen Dolly.”
More Than a Health Setback
The postponed Vegas shows weren’t the only sign that something was off. Just weeks earlier, Dolly missed a major event at Dollywood, where she had planned to announce the theme park’s newest rollercoaster.
Instead, fans were greeted with a pre-recorded message in which she explained she was recovering from a kidney stone that caused an infection: “The doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute.’”
Despite looking well in the video, the back-to-back absences have left fans deeply concerned, especially after the March death of her husband Carl Dean, who passed away at age 82 after nearly 60 years of marriage.
Still Not Slowing Down — Not Forever
But Dolly’s message to fans was crystal clear: “Don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet.”
“I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you,” she wrote.
And if Freida’s faith is any indication, the world’s most beloved country legend has a long road ahead paved with love, legacy, and a whole lot of prayers.
