In the days since his shocking assassination, supporters and pastors alike are remembering Charlie Kirk not only as a political force but as a man whose Christian faith shaped everything he did.
A Legacy of Faith and Family
Kirk, just 31 years old, was fatally shot during a campus event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday. The Turning Point USA founder, who had built a national platform inspiring young conservatives, often emphasized that his mission went beyond politics.
His wife, Erika Kirk, a former Miss Arizona USA, ministry leader, and NCAA athlete, shared her life with him as he balanced activism with being a devoted father. Together, they raised a 3-year-old daughter and 1-year-old son. The couple had celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in May.

Even in his final days, Kirk pointed his followers back to his beliefs. In one of his last posts on X, he wrote: “Jesus defeated death so you can live.”
“He Didn’t Fear Death”
Pastor Rob McCoy, co-chair of Turning Point Faith and a close friend of Kirk, did not hold back in his grief and defiance. “My friend Charlie Kirk was murdered today by a coward,” McCoy told Fox News Digital. “His life will be remembered for many wonderful things.”
He emphasized that Kirk built his platform through persuasion, not force. “He built it all with the power of the spoken word,” McCoy said. “He never used violence but was threatened every day with violence by those who couldn’t contend with logic and truth — and now they have done to my friend what evil always does. It takes away life.”

McCoy added that Kirk’s courage was rooted in his faith. “Charlie did not die. Instead, he has begun to truly live. His life was secured eternally by His Savior, Jesus Christ. This truth allowed Charlie to face every threat with courage because he didn’t fear death.”
“All evil knows is death, and they derive power from death,” he continued. “Charlie lived for life and will be remembered for this. My heart is broken for his family — his wife Erika and his two precious children. Evil has not prevailed, and it will not win.”
Inspiring a Generation
Beyond his role as a political influencer, Kirk founded TPUSA Faith, a branch of Turning Point dedicated to connecting Christianity with civic life. Its mission: “to expose lies and articulate the connection between Faith and Freedom.”

Conservative activist Robby Starbuck praised Kirk as one of the few public figures bold enough to talk openly about God with young people. “Aside from being a father, perhaps Charlie’s greatest achievement is talking about God to young people during a time when too many were afraid to do that,” he said. “The result has been a revival on college campuses all over the nation.”
Will Witt, author of Do Not Comply and a former TPUSA ambassador, echoed those sentiments. “Charlie was one of the most godly men I knew, and he had a bold and courageous faith,” Witt said. “His steadfast belief inspired everyone around him.”
Remembered by Pastors Nationwide
Prominent evangelical leaders also joined in mourning. Pastor Robert Jeffress of Dallas recalled Kirk speaking at his church, telling Fox News Digital: “The cold-blooded murder of Charlie Kirk is an illustration of what Jesus said, that Satan is alive and working in the world today… but the Bible promises that when we’re absent from the body, we’re at home with Jesus Christ.”
Jeffress urged Americans to honor Kirk’s life by following his example: “Charlie Kirk spoke truth in love. Can we do the same? If we do, we are honoring his life.”
Carrying the Torch
As the investigation into the shooting continues, many of Kirk’s colleagues say his greatest legacy will not be in politics but in faith, courage, and conviction.
For his family, the loss is immeasurable. For his movement, the challenge is clear: to continue the work Kirk began, speaking truth, defending freedom, and living a life rooted in faith.
