The players eligible for the Africa Cup of Nations: they can miss from 1 to 6 Serie A matches.

From January 13th to February 11th, the tournament will take place in Ivory Coast: the Italian league risks losing nearly 50 players.

Atalanta – 2

Gasperini could potentially lose two forwards in January: Ademola Lookman, who is a starter for Nigeria, and El Bilal Tourรฉ (Mali), who will attempt to recover in time from his injury.

Bologna – 1

At Bologna, only Oussama El Azzouzi is available for selection by his native Morocco. The midfielder has never been called up to the senior national team so far.

Cagliari – 3

Angola, Ghana, and Zambia can respectively call up Luvumbo, Sulemana, and Mutandwa. However, only the first one has international appearances with their national team. Additionally, Shomurodov is eligible for the Asian Cup.

Empoli – 4

As many as four players could leave Empoli this winter: Gyasi (Ghana), Maleh (Morocco), Ebuehi, and Ekong (Nigeria). However, none of them was called up during the last international break.

Fiorentina – 3

Christian Kouamรฉ (Ivory Coast) and M’bala Nzola (Angola) are the most likely departures. Alfred Duncan is also eligible, although he has been absent from the Ghanaian national team since 2019. Keep an eye on Maxime Lopez: Algeria still hopes to persuade the French midfielder to change his national team allegiance.

Frosinone – 4

Frosinone could potentially provide four players to Morocco: Harroui, Bidaoui, Bourabia, and Cheddira. However, only the latter has been called up to the national team in the last year.

Genoa – 1

The only player eligible for a call-up in Gilardino’s squad is Caleb Ekuban (Ghana). However, his last appearance for the national team dates back to 2021.

Inter – 0

Simone Inzaghi can smile as his Inter is one of the three teams without players eligible for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Juventus – 0

The second one is Juventus: Allegri will have everyone available even in January.

Lazio – 0

Lazio will also be a neutral spectator in the Africa Cup of Nations. However, Sarri may have to deal with the likely absence of Kamada for the Asian Cup.

Lecce – 3

In D’Aversa’s squad, Rafia, Banda, and Touba could depart, as they are eligible for call-ups from Tunisia, Zambia, and Algeria, respectively. All three have been selected by their national team coaches for this international break.

Milan – 3

Algeria hopes for the recovery of Ismael Bennacer and can also call up Yacine Adli. Virtually certain of the call-up is Samuel Chukwueze (Nigeria).

Monza – 2

Palladino risks losing two midfielders: Akpa-Akpro (Ivory Coast) and Machin (Equatorial Guinea).

Napoli – 2

Only two players, but both are crucial: Napoli will most likely have to do without Andrรฉ Anguissa (Cameroon) and, especially, Victor Osimhen (Nigeria).

Roma – 2

Ndicka (Ivory Coast) and Aouar (Algeria) are the only eligible players for the Africa Cup of Nations from Roma. However, Mourinho could also lose Azmoun, as his Iran will compete in the Asian Cup.

Salernitana – 6

Sousa will have to deal with 6 potential absences: notable names include Dia (Senegal) and Coulibaly (Mali). The list also includes Bronn (Tunisia), Cabral (Cape Verde), Ikwuemesi, and Simy (Nigeria).

Sassuolo – 1

In Sassuolo’s squad, only Pedro Obiang (Equatorial Guinea) is eligible for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Torino – 4

Juric risks losing Djidji and Karamoh (Ivory Coast), Tameze (Cameroon), and Seck (Senegal). However, only the latter has an international appearance with their national team.

Udinese – 6

Along with Salernitana, Udinese is the team with the most eligible players (6). Three of them are Nigerians: Ehizibue, Success, and Okoye. They are joined on the list by Ebosse (Cameroon), Kamara (Ivory Coast), and Masina (Morocco).

Verona – 2

There are two players in Verona’s squad who are eligible for call-ups: Hongla (Cameroon) and Folorunsho (Nigeria), the latter of whom has not been called up until now.
