Travis Kelce just confirmed what Swifties have been buzzing about for days and his giddy reaction to being engaged to Taylor Swift is as sweet as fans hoped.
“It’s been really fun telling everybody”
On the latest episode of his New Heights podcast, the NFL superstar couldn’t hold back his excitement as he spoke publicly for the first time since the couple dropped their surprise engagement news.

“It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” Travis, 35, told his brother Jason Kelce during Wednesday’s episode, adding how “cool” it felt to call someone your fiancée.
He even revealed that the first time he used the word out loud was at a college football game, the University of Nebraska vs. University of Cincinnati, where he proudly introduced Taylor as his fiancée to a few teammates.
“You gotta know your gal … and you can’t let how somebody else does it make you feel like you gotta do it that way,” he said. “You might be able to get some ideas … but know your partner, know who you’re doing it for. Everything else will be beautiful.”
Behind the scenes of the surprise proposal
While fans only just saw the couple’s dreamy Instagram announcement, featuring a cozy post captioned “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” the real moment happened weeks earlier.
And yes, Travis planned it down to the day.

According to reports, the three-time Super Bowl champ proposed in the garden of his Leawood, Kansas estate, right after they wrapped Taylor’s guest appearance on New Heights. The timing wasn’t random. Travis knew Taylor would be camera-ready and wanted her to look and feel her best in the post-proposal photos.
Reports say he arranged for a crew to set up a garden display while they were filming the podcast episode. By the time they stepped outside, the scene was set and Travis got down on one knee.

A family affair — and a long time coming
It wasn’t a spur-of-the-moment move, either. Travis reportedly spent six to eight months co-designing the ring with jeweler Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. And before he even opened the box, he did things the old-fashioned way: by asking Taylor’s dad, Scott Swift, for permission a month ahead of time.
And apparently, Taylor was more than ready. “She was a little antsy,” Travis’s dad Ed Kelce told ABC News 5 with a laugh. But if the glowing engagement photos are any clue, it was worth the wait.

Love, laughter, and looking ahead
The couple began dating in summer 2023 after Travis tried, and famously failed, to give Taylor his number at her Eras Tour. Since then, they’ve become one of pop culture’s most powerful love stories, from stadium kisses to romantic getaways.
With Travis headed to Brazil for the Chiefs’ Week 1 game and Taylor gearing up for more music releases, the two are still living fast, but this time, they’re doing it together.
And now that the secret’s out? Travis says it best: “F–k yeah!”
