From Maurizio to Allegri: Rabiot and the other seven. Who remains from Sarri’s Juventus?

In the 2019-20 season, the current Lazio coach took over from Allegri and won the last of the 9 consecutive Serie A titles. Here are the players who have remained in the squad since then.

Mattia De Sciglio

The defender who is currently injured, is expected to return after the new year. He made 13 appearances under Sarri, including 9 in the league. The season was interrupted due to Covid and ended in August.

Daniele Rugani

The current fifth option defender under Allegri was also a reserve under Sarri: he had 14 appearances, including 10 in the league, in the year of the last Serie A title.

The current trio of goalkeepers

The same ‘formation’ remains in front of the goal, with Szczesny as the undisputed starter (he made 37 appearances and conceded 42 goals during that season), Perin was loaned to Genoa in January, and Pinsoglio made one appearance.”

Adrien Rabiot

The French player, a favorite of Allegri, arrived on a free transfer during Sarri’s season. He featured in 37 matches in Serie A, scoring only one goal in the process.

Danilo

The current captain was signed at the beginning of Sarri’s season, following a swap deal with Manchester City that involved Joao Cancelo. The Brazilian made 22 appearances and scored 2 goals in Serie A that season.

Alex Sandro

Among the current teammates who have remained in the squad, Alex Sandro made 41 appearances that season, including 29 in the league, 5 in the Coppa Italia, and 6 in the Champions League. He was, therefore, a key figure in the most recent Juventus Serie A title, whichsecured with 83 points, 76 goals scored, and conceded 43.
