The Rossoneri are close to reaching an agreement with Sevilla over a loan deal for Rafa Mir
AC Milan and Sevilla are close to reaching an agreement for the striker Rafa Mir in a loan deal with a buyout option, a deal worth โฌ15m overall: the agreement is not closed but it is on a very good track.
Rafa Mir, who is born in 1997, has scored 16 goals over the last 2 seasons in La Liga with Sevilla. Mir immediately said yes to Milan. He will be Olivier Giroud’s backup as the number 9.
Patson Daka, the Leicester striker pursued this morning, has slipped away. The deal became very complicated due to the tight time frame, not helped by the fact that Daka is a non-EU player.
Talks for another candidate Torino’s Tonny Sanabria, appreciated by Milan for his experience of the Italian league, faded this morning. Luka Jovic, a long-time candidate, never convinced coach Stefano Pioli.
Meanwhile, a sensational development emerged short while ago. In the last few hours, Milan attempted to loan Jonathan David from Lille with a buyout option, but the attempt failed. The Canadian striker’s contract expires in 2025, and Milan has liked him for years.
As today the deal fell through, Jonathan David is already emerging as one of the top targets for 2024, when Milan will almost certainly have to secure a starting central striker in the market.
*Latest update, the deal is off and AC Milan has just agreed a move for Fiorentina’s Luka Jovic
