Gwen Stefani reveals the secret behind her marriage to Blake Shelton — It involves a ‘Third Party’

Gwen Stefani just got real about what keeps her marriage to country superstar Blake Shelton strong — and it’s not just love songs and cozy nights in.

Appearing on The Drew Barrymore Show, the pop icon, 55, shared her unexpected relationship advice: “Make sure you have a third party.”

But she wasn’t talking about anyone scandalous — she pointed to the sky, making it clear she meant God. “He’s always watching over us,” she added, calling faith a key ingredient in their bond.

From TV Coaches to Country Lovebirds

Stefani and Shelton first met in 2014 while coaching The Voice, both newly single after headline-making divorces. Sparks flew fast, and by 2015, they were officially a couple. They exchanged vows in July 2021 during an intimate ceremony held at Blake’s ranch in Oklahoma, with only their closest family and friends in attendance.

Since then, they’ve collaborated musically on hits like Nobody But You and Happy Anywhere, even dropping their latest duet Purple Irises on Gwen’s album Bouquet.

A Love Built on Blanket Nights, Not Red Carpets

When asked whether she prefers going out or staying in, Gwen didn’t hesitate: “For sure in, she laughed.

“I’m literally like — couch, blanket, cookies, chips.” She painted a warm picture of their usual date night: dogs by their side, each on their own couch, waving at each other across the living room.

“I’d sit next to him, but he’s gigantic and we don’t fit anywhere,” she joked.

Stepfather Goals

Blake Shelton may not have kids of his own, but he’s all in as a stepdad to Gwen’s three sons — Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo — from her previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale. In 2022, Shelton stepped back from The Voice after 23 seasons to focus on family life.

“Even though I’m a stepparent, I take that job very seriously,” Shelton told People. “If I walked away from my career right now, the only thing I’d regret is missing out on more time with our kids.”

No scandals, no drama — just God, love songs, chips on the couch, and a whole lot of heart.
