Greg Gutfeld takes a brutal swipe at Katy Perry’s space adventure with a strong Joke

Fox host sparks backlash over crude joke as he mocks all-female space crew including Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King

Katy Perry Takes Flight — and a Hit from Gutfeld

Fox News late-night host Greg Gutfeld has come under fire for a distasteful jab at Katy Perry’s intelligence, just days after the pop star’s highly publicized journey to the edge of space.

During Friday’s episode of Gutfeld!, the 59-year-old pundit took aim at Perry’s participation in Blue Origin’s all-female flight, cracking a joke that angered many liberals.”

To prepare for her trip on the Blue Origin rocket, Katy Perry said, quote, she read a book on string theory—we’re told she thought it was about the effects of zero gravity on tampons,” Gutfeld quipped to laughter from his studio audience.

A Historic Space Crew Becomes Comedic Target

The Teenage Dream singer was one of six women aboard Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin spaceflight earlier this week—a milestone moment for the aerospace program and female astronauts alike.

Joining her were Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, journalist Gayle King, engineer Aisha Bowe, activist Amanda Nguyen, and film producer Kerianne Flynn.

The historic flight, which lasted just over 11 minutes, was meant to be a triumphant celebration of female achievement in space. But Gutfeld’s monologue took a different turn.

More Jabs: Lauren Sanchez and Gayle King in the Crosshairs

He didn’t stop at Perry—he went after the entire crew.

Pointing to Lauren Sanchez, Gutfeld teased a conspiracy theory:

There’s a new conspiracy that the Blue Origin crew faked their flight to space,” he said, before flashing an image of Sanchez and adding, “Come on, what’s fake about this astronaut?

He also referenced a $3,000 handbag allegedly gifted to Sanchez by the Kardashians, and mocked Gayle King shortly after.

Social Media Divided: over Gutfeld’s comments?

While Gutfeld’s loyal fan base chuckled along, many on social media were less than impressed.

“That is a pretty oblique idea of a joke, I think Gutfeld is going downhill,” one viewer wrote.
Another bluntly said: “He is not funny AT ALL! SMH!”

But in true internet fashion, others loved the edginess.

“I love Gutfeld’s tampon jokes!” one X user declared.

Perry Keeps It Poetic — Even as Critics Circle

As for Perry, she remained unbothered—at least publicly. After touching back down on Earth, the 39-year-old singer described the experience as “life-changing.”

“I felt super connected to life. So connected to love,” she told reporters.

While her words were meant to inspire, they quickly became fodder for political commentators like Ben Shapiro, who rolled his eyes at her “cosmic” sentiment.
