Taylor Swift gets 6 nominations for the 2025 AMA Awards including Artist of the year – Will she win?

Taylor Swift is once again dominating the American Music Awards conversation, securing six major nominations as the show prepares for its highly anticipated return after a two-year break.

The AMAs, set to air live from Las Vegas on Memorial Day (May 26) at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS and Paramount+, announced their full list of contenders on April 23 — with Swift once again standing tall among music’s biggest names.

Swift Scores Big in Six Categories

The 34-year-old pop icon is nominated in the following categories:

  • Artist of the Year
  • Favorite Female Pop Artist
  • Album of the Year
  • Favorite Pop Album
  • Collaboration of the Year
  • Favorite Touring Artist

These nominations come on the heels of a record-breaking run that already earned her the title of most decorated artist in AMA history. As of now, Swift holds 40 wins out of 49 nominations — an 82% win rate that underscores her unparalleled popularity and staying power.

After a two-year hiatus, the AMAs are returning with fresh energy and fierce competition. Kendrick Lamar leads the pack this year with 10 nominations across eight categories.

If he wins them all, Lamar would tie the legendary record for most awards won in a single night —a record currently held by both Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

As always, the AMAs are fan-voted, giving Swifties another chance to boost their favorite artist to the top. The voting process adds a layer of excitement — and unpredictability — to the ceremony, especially with such powerhouse nominees in the mix.

A Look Back at Swift’s Historic AMA Run

In 2022, Swift captured the Artist of the Year award and used the moment to thank her fans for fueling her creative surge.

“In the past few years, I have released more music than I did in the entire decade preceding that,” she said while holding her signature glass prism trophy. “I really feel like that’s down to the fact you, the fans, made it clear that you wanted to hear lots of music that I would make.”

With the upcoming release of The Tortured Poets Department continuing to dominate charts and headlines, 2025 could mark yet another historic sweep for Swift at the AMAs.
