Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a new photo of their son Prince Louis in celebration of his 7th birthday — and the cheerful young royal is looking more grown up than ever.
Prince Louis of Wales, the youngest child of Prince William and Kate Middleton, is celebrating his birthday today. To mark the occasion, the royal family released an official portrait of him.
Kensington Palace posted the new photo on their social media accounts. Unlike in previous years, the photo was not taken by his mother Kate, who usually captures family moments herself.
This year, the portrait was taken by professional photographer Josh Shinner, known for working with celebrities and having an impressive portfolio.
“We wish Prince Louis a very happy 7th birthday,” reads the caption on the photo.
As usual, Prince Louis is dressed in a neat outfit — wearing a checkered shirt under a sweater — and smiling widely. Fans noticed he’s starting to lose his baby teeth and is clearly growing into a big boy.
British media reported that the photo was taken earlier this month in Norfolk, at the family’s countryside home, Anmer Hall. William and Kate enjoy spending time there with their children, as it offers nature and privacy away from the public eye.
Prince Louis is often called the most entertaining member of the royal family because of his funny faces and playful behavior at official events. He’s a fan favorite for good reason.
Today, on his birthday, he’s heading back to Lambrook School after the Easter break — just like his older brother Prince George and sister Princess Charlotte.
