“For me, it’s really my mind,” LeBron explained. “I’m all about the process. I love the grind, but if I ever get to a point where I don’t feel like showing up to the arena hours before a game, or I lose the desire to train or study the scouting reports, that’s when I’ll know. I’ll tell myself, ‘Bron, it’s time.’”
LeBron on What He Thinks the Lakers’ Success Will Look Like This Season
LeBron has a clear vision of what it will take for the Lakers to be successful this season. He emphasized that health is the biggest factor in determining how far the team can go.
“Obviously, if we can have health. That’s the most important for our team. We’re not in a position where we can afford anybody to go down,” LeBron said.
Beyond staying healthy, LeBron pointed out that the success of the Lakers will largely depend on the chemistry between himself, Luka Doncic, and Austin Reaves.
“Luka, myself, and Austin—we gotta be clicking at the same time. We have to be in tune with what we need to do every single night. The Playoffs are literally about one possession that can make you lose a series, and it’s up to us three.”
LeBron also highlighted the trust in their new head coach, JJ Redick.
“We know our coaching staff’s gonna give us the game plan. JJ Redick’s not gonna send us on a wild goose chase. He and his coaching staff are gonna make sure we know what we need to do to get the job done.”
