Taylor Swift has made it clear that she won’t be taking the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show.
Despite years of speculation and fan anticipation, Swift remains committed to supporting Kelce from the sidelines rather than performing at the league’s biggest event.
Swift’s Priority: Supporting Kelce Over Performing
Swift, who has been dating Kelce for nearly two years, attended this year’s Super Bowl, where she watched Kendrick Lamar deliver the halftime performance.
However, despite ongoing rumors, she has no intention of accepting the halftime gig while Kelce is still actively competing. She doesn’t want to take the attention away, she wants it to be about her man.
“Taylor wants to be there cheering on Travis, not performing,” a source told the Daily Mail.
The insider also emphasized that as long as Kelce is playing, there’s always a chance that the Chiefs could make it to the Super Bowl again—and Swift doesn’t want to overshadow that moment.
“What a girlfriend. She doesn’t want to take away from that,” the source added.
The Halftime Show Wasn’t an Option Before
While Swift has long been a top choice for the Super Bowl halftime show, an earlier brand conflict made it impossible for her to accept the opportunity.
For years, Pepsi sponsored the halftime show, but Swift’s endorsement deal with Coca-Cola prevented her from performing under a competing brand. However, since Apple Music has now taken over sponsorship, that obstacle has been removed.
Still, with Kelce’s career and future in the NFL uncertain, Swift is holding off on the opportunity until the timing is right. Which will be when her boyfriend Travis retires.
Will Swift Headline After Kelce Retires?
Kelce, now 34, has been open about considering retirement, especially after the Chiefs’ 40-22 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. After 13 grueling NFL seasons, the physical demands of the game have started taking a toll, and he has hinted at weighing his options for the future.
Although Kelce is leaning toward continuing, a final decision is expected before the next season.
If Kelce does retire soon, Swift could potentially headline Super Bowl LX in Santa Clara, California, in 2025. However, if he decides to play a few more seasons, she may have to wait until 2027 in Inglewood or 2028 in Atlanta for her chance.
The NFL Is Ready Whenever Swift Is
While Swift has not yet engaged in official discussions with the NFL or Roc Nation regarding a halftime performance, insiders confirm that she remains a top contender for the show whenever she is ready.
“If Taylor wants it, she gets it,” a source revealed. “The NFL knows it would be a massive win.”
Although Swift has expressed a preference for performing in Nashville, she remains open to other locations when the timing is right.
For now, however, her focus remains on supporting Kelce’s career, meaning fans will have to wait a little longer before she finally steps onto the Super Bowl halftime stage.
