The president has previously stated: ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!’ on his Truth social media
Donald Trump made history on Sunday as he was the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl, drawing attention away from pop star Taylor Swift in the process.
The former president not only received a loud cheer from the crowd at the Superdome but also took the opportunity to mock Swift after the game.
Meanwhile, Swift was met with a much different reception. When the jumbotron featured her during the game, she faced very loud boos from the audience.
To add to her disappointment, she also watched as her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his team suffered a tough 40-22 defeat at the hands of the Philadelphia Eaglesโthe team Swift grew up supporting.
What did the President say?
Following the game, Trump wasted no time taking to Truth Social mocking Swift and the Chiefs combined.
He credited the intense boos she received to his “Make America Great Again” supporters, making it clear that he believed his movement played a role in the crowdโs reaction.
“The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!” Trump declared on Truth Social after the game.
Throughout the game, Trump shared videos highlighting the contrast between Swift being booed and himself receiving cheers from the crowd, further emphasizing the moment in a separate Truth Social post.
Taylor Swift vs Donald Trump tensions
The longstanding tension between Taylor Swift and Donald Trump has been building for years. Once known for staying out of politics, Swift made waves in 2018 when she broke her silence by endorsing Democratic candidates in Tennesseeโa move that Trump publicly didn’t like at the time.
Their feud reignited last year when speculation arose about Swiftโs potential influence in the 2024 election. Trump didnโt hold back, lashing out at the pop star and later posting his now-infamous “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” rant, cementing his status as a vocal critic and solidifying his position as an adversary of Swiftโs devoted fan base.
