American actor Tom Welling, best known for his role as Clark Kent in the series Smallville, one of the modern adaptations of the Superman story, has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The news was reported by TMZ, which also published a police booking photo of Welling taken after his arrest. The outlet stated that the 47-year-old actor was taken into custody in a California parking lot shortly after midnight on Sunday.
However, his DUI arrest did not attract as much public attention as the shocking photo, in which Tom Welling looks drastically different from his days of global fame.
Comments on social media are filled with disbelief and concern over his transformation and graying hair. However, many also point out that this is a natural part of aging.

Welling rose to fame with his role in the superhero series Smallville, which aired from 2001 to 2011. When the show first premiered, he was 24 years old. Following this TV hit, he took on numerous roles, with his most notable appearance being in the third season of Lucifer.
On the day of his arrest, the actor took to Instagram to wish his wife a happy birthday, praising her for making their family’s dreams come true and serving as their inspiration.
Welling has been with Jessica Rose Lee since 2014. The couple married in 2019 and have two children together.
