After making his runway debut in Paris recently, the only son of model Heidi Klum and singer Seal has become a hot topic on social media.
This 19-year-old young man walked the runway wearing pieces from Lena Erziak’s haute couture collection, mesmerizing the world with his looks and what seems to be an innate talent for modeling.
Many agreed that the striking Henry inherited the best features from both of his parents. However, there are also those who have directed criticism his way—and not the positive kind.
At his first runway show, the newly minted model wore an elegant black suit over his bare chest, with an oversized silk scarf draped over his shoulder as a striking finishing touch.
A particularly interesting detail was the open lower back on the tailored blazer, which Henry showcased as he walked the runway with confidence and poise.
“All grown up and very handsome” one internet user enthusiastically commented under photos from the runway, while another added: “He looks just like his mom and dad!”
And while many admired what they saw, calling him a worthy successor to his mother, the wave of negative comments flooding social media cast a shadow over this major achievement.
“It’s ridiculous how all these celebrity kids just get everything handed to them! What a joke! Others have to work for it” read one of the comments, while another bitterly added: “I’m so tired of these worthless nepo babies!”
Over the past year, the fashion world has seen a surge of “nepo babies,” with the children of celebrities, mainly former models making up an increasing share of those walking the world’s biggest runways.
Before Henry, his older sister Leni, Heidi’s first daughter with Flavio Briatore, had already entered the modeling industry. However, she didn’t fare any better than her brother, facing an onslaught of criticism about nepotism and the unfair advantages behind the system.
Despite this, Henry looks up to and relies on his sister, something he openly shared ahead of his runway debut.
