Elon Musk delivered an eccentric performance during Donald Trump’s post-inauguration rally, captivating the crowd at Capital One Arena with an unexpected celebratory dance.

The billionaire entrepreneur, known for his dynamic persona, pumped his fists energetically and bounced across the stage, eliciting raucous applause. Taking a victory lap before reaching the podium, Musk threw his arms wide open and let out an enthusiastic “Yes!” as the crowd roared in approval.

At 53, Musk has cemented his role as a key figure within the MAGA movement, underscored by his prominent speaking slot just hours after Trump officially took office.

Addressing the thousands in attendance, the Tesla CEO expressed his excitement over what he described as America’s return to accomplishing “basic stuff” correctly. Musk also shared his enthusiasm for advancing space exploration, particularly with plans to put a man on Mars.

During his speech, he placed his hand on his chest and extended his right arm outward. This movement bore a striking resemblance to the infamous Nazì salute. The incident has reignited discussions about the responsibilities of public figures in their actions and statements.

In response to the backlash, Musk took to his platform, X, to address the controversy.He quoted a user’s post referencing a previous tweet of his from May 2022. In that 2022 tweet, Musk stated,

In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party. But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold…”
