Jamie Lee Curtis shared a heartfelt and emotional message on Instagram as she faced the possibility of losing her Los Angeles home to the raging Pacific Palisades wildfires.
The Halloween actress, known for her iconic roles, posted a striking image of a house engulfed in flames alongside a deeply personal note. She revealed that her family had evacuated the area but remained uncertain about the fate of their home.
“My community, and possibly my home, is on fire,” she wrote, expressing her anguish over the devastation. “My family is safe, but many of my friends are likely to lose their homes, along with countless others in nearby communities.”
Curtis also pointed out the confusion surrounding the unfolding disaster. “There are so many conflicting reports,” she continued. “With all the technology we have, there’s still so little accurate information. PLEASE POST FACTS! It will help those who are left wondering.”
Her emotional plea shed light on the chaos and heartbreak felt by so many affected by the relentless wildfires that have been raging since Tuesday.
“It is a terrifying situation,” she wrote, expressing gratitude for the brave firefighters and compassionate neighbors working tirelessly to protect lives and property. “I’m grateful to the firefighters and all the good Samaritans helping people get out of the way of the blaze. Neighbors have taken care of neighbors.”
“We ALL take everything for granted because we are all living our lives, but when it hits your community, it’s particularly shocking. Life on life’s terms,” she said.
In a moving call for solidarity, she added, “If ever there was a need for the phrase ‘MY HAND IN YOURS,’ it is right now. Take care of each other. Stay out of the way and let the firefighters do their work. Pray if you believe in it, and even if you don’t, pray for those who do.”
The wildfires have devastated the area, affecting many high-profile residents. Ben Affleck was seen leaving the area on Tuesday, where he owns a home near his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. Mandy Moore confirmed she had to evacuate, while James Woods and Steve Guttenberg revealed their properties had suffered damage.
