Meghan Markle’s lifestyle show recently dropped its first trailer ahead of the Netflix release
Meghan Markle is preparing for the highly anticipated debut of her Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, but it appears the royal family remains steadfast in maintaining their distance.
The series, which has already sparked considerable buzz, recently released its first trailer. The preview offers glimpses of Markle engaging in activities like cooking and gardening, often joined by her celebrity friends, promising an intimate look into her life.
The upcoming release of With Love, Meghan on January 15 has certainly sparked public curiosity, but it seems the royal family isn’t among those eagerly awaiting the series.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield shared insights with Fox News, stating, “I was told that the Prince and Princess of Wales have no interest in Meghan’s future projects.” A palace source further elaborated, describing Meghan as “a background character in a chapter that’s already closed,” adding that courtiers see no value in dedicating “mental real estate” to her endeavors.
The Royals couldn’t care less
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams weighed in on the royal familyโs disinterest in Meghan Markleโs upcoming projects, emphasizing their detachment since Meghan and Prince Harry stepped back from royal duties in 2020.
โThe Sussex brand still fascinates, and Meghan does continue to make headlines,โ Fitzwilliams noted. โBut… the series looked pretty superficial to me. I wondered where the Kardashians were. The royals just couldnโt care less.โ
Markle marked her return to Instagram by sharing the trailer for With Love, Meghan, though none of the royal family members have followed her new account.
In her post, she expressed enthusiasm for the project, writing, โI have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @Netflix. Beyond grateful for the supportโand fun!โ
The series comes as part of Harry and Meghanโs $100 million deal with Netflix, signed in 2020. However, with the contract reportedly set to expire at the end of the summer, its renewal remains uncertain.
