Prince Harry breaks the silence over divorce speculation in marriage to Meghan Markle

The couple haven’t been spotted together since mid-August

Prince Harry appeared yesterday at the “DealBook” summit in New York as a guest of honor alongside columnist Andrew Ross Sorkin.

Meanwhile, his wife, Meghan Markle, was in California, supporting their family friend and godfather, Tyler Perry, during the presentation of the prestigious “The Paley” award at the Paley Media Center in Beverly Hills.

For months now, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been attending various events separately—either alone or with others—which has fueled widespread speculation about the state of their marriage.

Although neither Harry nor Meghan has addressed these rumors directly, Prince Harry decided to share his thoughts during the event.

At one point during the summit, Prince Harry joined Andrew Ross Sorkin on stage to discuss the role of mainstream media and the dangers posed by the spread of misinformation.

Sorkin highlighted how Harry’s life is often subject to constant speculation and narratives created by others.

“I Googled your name and saw how fascinated people are with everything you do, all the time,” Sorkin remarked. “They’re even fascinated by the fact that Meghan is currently in California, while you’re here.” He seemed to be referencing Meghan’s solo appearance at the event in Beverly Hills.

This acknowledgment of the public’s relentless scrutiny of their lives offered a glimpse into how the couple navigates the challenges of living under a global spotlight.

“And almost all the articles are asking the same thing: ‘Why are you attending events separately? Why not go together?'” Ross observed.

Indeed, a quick search of Meghan and Harry’s names online these days brings up endless speculation about a potential divorce or tensions in their marriage.

“Does that seem normal to you? The moment an article comes out—she’s in California, you’re in New York—they immediately say, ‘Well, what’s going on with these two, right?’ Is it, in any way, a good thing for you that there’s so much interest in your lives?” Ross asked.

Prince Harry was quick to clarify his thoughts, emphasizing that, in his opinion, it’s not a good thing at all, especially because of the rampant spread of misinformation.

“No, it’s definitely not a good thing. Apparently, we’ve bought or moved houses 10, 12 times. Apparently, we’ve divorced maybe 10, 12 times. So every time I hear it, I’m like, ‘What?’” Prince Harry said with a laugh.

This response from the Duke of Sussex makes it clear that his marriage to Meghan is intact and that divorce is not on the horizon. For those who might still doubt it, Harry had a pointed message.

“It’s hard to keep up, but that’s why you just ignore it. The people I feel most sorry for are the online trolls. Their hopes keep getting built up, like, ‘Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes,’ and then it doesn’t happen. So I do feel sorry for them. Honestly, I do,” he concluded.
