Where are Tim Allen’s daughters today? The 20-year age gap between Katherine and Elizabeth

Tim Allen, the comedian behind Home Improvement and Santa in The Santa Clause franchise, is a proud father of two daughters born 20 years apart. While one has chosen privacy, the other is stepping into the spotlight with her dad’s encouragement.

Katherine “Kady” Allen

Katherine Allen, often called Kady, was born in December 1989 to Tim and his first wife, Laura Deibel. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2003 after separating in 1999, meaning Katherine grew up during the peak of her father’s fame and personal challenges.

Now in her mid-30s, Katherine has deliberately stayed out of the Hollywood spotlight. She rarely appears publicly and maintains almost no social media presence. Occasional red-carpet moments, like attending Tim’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in 2004, are the exception rather than the rule.

Tim has spoken warmly about her recent wedding, even revealing he took dance classes with her beforehand and got emotional on her big day. He credits his long-term sobriety (nearly 30 years) for creating different dynamics with his daughters, noting that Katherine didn’t have the steadier version of him during her early years.

Katherine represents the many celebrity children who prefer normalcy and a life defined on their own terms, away from cameras and public scrutiny.

Elizabeth Allen-Dick: The Rising Star

Elizabeth Allen-Dick arrived in March 2009, the daughter of Tim and his second wife, actress Jane Hajduk, whom he married in 2006. Now 17, she has grown up in a more stable family environment and has shown a natural interest in acting.

In 2022, at age 13, Elizabeth made her acting debut in Disney+’s The Santa Clauses, playing the onscreen daughter of Tim’s character, Scott Calvin/Santa.

She earned the role through auditions on her own merit, and Tim has called the experience “pretty special” and “amazing.” She has since appeared in Thee Third Act (2024) and joined her dad for press events, displaying poise and charm.

Fans love seeing the real-life father-daughter chemistry. In 2025, Tim and Jane were spotted celebrating Elizabeth’s Sweet 16 at Disneyland, enjoying rides and family time like any other parents—only with a bit more magic.

Tim often says fatherhood the second time around feels easier thanks to sobriety and life lessons learned. With Elizabeth, he’s been able to be more present, sharing both everyday moments and on-set adventures.
