Trump lawyer Alina Habba begins new chapter after divorce, relocates to Palm Beach

Alina Habba enters new phase after divorce and move to Florida

Alina Habba, the former acting U.S. attorney for New Jersey and a one-time personal lawyer to President Donald Trump, has entered a new chapter in both her personal and professional life following the end of her marriage and a relocation to Florida.

According to The New York Post, Habba, 41, separated from her husband Gregg Reuben after nearly six years together. The development was first reported by the Daily Mail, with sources confirming that the split came shortly after she stepped down from her role as New Jersey’s top federal prosecutor in early December.

The move marks a significant shift, as Habba has since settled in Palm Beach, Florida, near the president’s Mar-a-Lago residence.

A personal decision amid professional transition

Sources close to Habba indicated that she was the one who initiated the separation. At the time, the couple had been dividing their time between New Jersey and Florida before ultimately reaching what one insider described as an impasse.

“This sort of situation, although unfortunate for anyone, was the right thing for her and her family,” a source told The Post.

Those familiar with Habba’s decision described her as focused and self-assured, emphasizing her willingness to make difficult choices. One friend characterized her as “a self-made lawyer” and “a devoted mom,” adding that she remains unwilling to change her personality to satisfy outside expectations.

Another source echoed that sentiment, describing her as someone who “trusts herself” and approaches life without compromise.

A demanding pace and a new environment

Habba’s work ethic was also highlighted by those close to her, with one source noting the intensity of her professional life. “Alina is constantly working and running, traveling — the woman doesn’t stop,” the source said, describing her as “a machine.”

Reuben, who built his wealth through multiple business ventures focused on parking management, had largely remained out of the public spotlight during their relationship. The couple’s differing pace of life was referenced by sources, who suggested that Habba is now looking ahead to a more compatible future.

At present, there is no indication that she is in a new relationship. However, individuals close to her expressed optimism about what lies ahead, noting they are “excited” for her to eventually find someone who can match her energy and commitment.

Family life and ongoing role in government

Habba was previously married to attorney Matthew Eyet, with whom she shares two children. She was also a stepmother to Reuben’s son, often referring to the three children as her “three nuggets” on social media.

Following her move, Habba is now working as a senior adviser to Attorney General Pam Bondi, a role that places her in a position overseeing U.S. attorneys nationwide.

Those close to her say she has embraced the transition to Florida and is focused on settling her children into their new environment.

“She’s super happy in Florida so far,” one source said, describing the move as the beginning of a positive new chapter.
