Sean Hannity has offered another update on the health concerns that recently sparked widespread discussion among Fox News viewers, this time revealing a humorous exchange with one of his longtime radio producers.
The Fox News host has spent the past several days reassuring supporters after many noticed changes in his appearance, including a raspy voice and a noticeably fuller face. While some online speculated about his health, Hannity has repeatedly emphasized that the symptoms are temporary and related to medication prescribed for a neck injury.
During his latest radio show, Hannity confirmed he is feeling better and used the opportunity to reassure listeners once again about his recovery.
Opening the conversation, Hannity asked producer Lynda McLaughlin if his voice sounded improved.
“Don’t I sound better today? Aren’t you excited to hear my voice back?” he asked.
McLaughlin’s response quickly lightened the mood.
“I think America is excited that you’re not dying of a stroke,” she replied, drawing laughter during the broadcast.
Hannity explains what caused the health scare
The broadcaster again explained that the concerns stemmed from a painful pinched nerve he developed while training.
According to Hannity, his doctor prescribed prednisone to reduce the inflammation. While the medication helped treat the injury, it also caused temporary side effects, including laryngitis and facial puffiness.
He also revealed that he initially hoped to avoid taking the medication altogether.
Hannity said a doctor first believed he had a severe sinus infection that had led to laryngitis and advised him that his vocal cords were not being damaged. He explained that he originally wanted to simply wait for the condition to improve rather than begin treatment with prednisone.
Ultimately, however, the medication became part of his recovery, even though it produced the visible side effects that fueled speculation online.
Earlier this week, Hannity also addressed the rumors directly on X, assuring viewers that he was recovering well and continuing to train despite the attention surrounding his appearance.
“I’m fine, recovering well, and still training, but apparently a few weeks of prednisone has generated more social media commentary than 30 years of ratings success,” he wrote.
He later added that a pinched nerve, a raspy voice and a puffy face were “not taking me out anytime soon.”
Questions about Hannity’s health first emerged after recent Fox News broadcasts prompted viewers to comment on his voice and facial appearance across social media.
The discussion included both supportive messages from concerned fans and criticism from some commentators, leading Hannity to publicly clarify the cause of the changes.
Despite the speculation, he has continued hosting his nightly Fox News program throughout his recovery.
Continuing his work on and off the air
Hannity remains one of Fox News’ longest-serving personalities, having joined the network when it launched in 1996 before later becoming the solo host of Hannity in 2009.
Away from television, he has occasionally shared details about his relationship with fellow Fox News host and fiancée Ainsley Earhardt.
During a recent appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, Hannity described being with Earhardt as feeling like “a permanent vacation,” offering another rare glimpse into his personal life.
For now, however, his latest message has focused on reassuring viewers that his recovery continues to move in the right direction—and proving that he has not lost his sense of humor along the way.
