Trump calls for Fox News host to be taken off air in latest clash
A new public dispute has emerged between President Donald Trump and a Fox News personality, after he called for one of the network’s hosts to be removed from television in a sharply worded statement.
In a Truth Social post, Trump directly urged Fox News executives to take Jessica Tarlov off the air, describing her as “one of the worst personalities on television” and “a real loser.” The remarks quickly drew attention as they targeted a current co-host of The Five.
“For Fox executives only, take Jessica Tarlov off the air,” Trump wrote. “She is, from her voice, to her lies, and everything else about her, one of the worst ‘personalities’ on television, a real loser! People cannot stand watching her.”
Trump also used the same message to criticize Fox News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream, disputing how she referred to legislation and expressing frustration with her handling of Democratic guests on her program.
On-air remarks add context to the backlash
The comments came shortly after Tarlov addressed a recently announced two-week ceasefire involving the United States and Iran during a segment on The Five.
Tarlov openly questioned the credibility of the ceasefire, stating that what was being presented publicly did not match ongoing developments. She said she believed “there is no ceasefire,” pointing to continued military activity and conflicting reports shown across news coverage.
During the same discussion, she also referenced a reported 10-point proposal connected to negotiations, raising concerns about its terms, including sanctions and nuclear policy. Her remarks stood in contrast to the administration’s framing of the agreement as a workable basis for negotiation.
A continuing pattern of criticism
This is not the first time Trump has publicly criticized Tarlov. During a March appearance on The Five, he said he was “not a fan” of her and accused her of using inaccurate polling figures, before adding, “I’m sure she’s a lovely person.”
His criticism has also extended to Shannon Bream in the past. In 2024, Trump described her as “naive” following an interview involving his attorney and later claimed she was “anti-MAGA.”
Trump has also repeatedly directed strong language toward journalists more broadly, including female reporters, using terms such as “rotten,” “stupid,” and “ugly, both inside and out.” In February, he referred to CNN journalist Kaitlan Collins as “the worst reporter” and commented on her demeanor during exchanges.
Ongoing tension between media and politics
The latest exchange highlights the continued friction between political figures and media voices, including those on networks that regularly cover the administration.
While Tarlov has continued her on-air commentary, Trump’s remarks underscore his willingness to publicly challenge coverage he disagrees with, even when it comes from familiar platforms.
