Megyn Kelly slams Sean Hannity in unprecedented attack on her former Fox News colleague

Megyn Kelly has publicly criticized her former Fox News colleague Sean Hannity, delivering sharp remarks during a recent broadcast as divisions among conservative commentators over U.S. involvement in Iran continue to grow.

The journalist’s comments came during her Tuesday night program, where she addressed the ongoing conflict and questioned the role of media figures in shaping political decisions.

Kelly Breaks with Former Colleague

During her show titled Understanding America’s Goals in Iran, Kelly said she felt compelled to speak candidly about Hannity’s approach to covering former President Donald Trump.

“Hannity is a supplicant to Donald Trump, he would never say anything other than to puff Trump up,” Kelly said, directly criticizing her former colleague’s loyalty.

She added that while support for Trump remains strong among many conservatives, there is a tendency to reinforce his views rather than challenge them.

“We all love Trump, but let’s be real,” Kelly said, suggesting that the former president can be influenced by praise and affirmation.

Her remarks place her at odds not only with Hannity but also with other prominent conservative voices she believes are encouraging continued military action in the Middle East.

Kelly has emerged as a vocal critic of the current conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. She has argued that the situation escalated unnecessarily and raised concerns about its human cost.

She questioned whether American troops were being put in harm’s way “for Iran or Israel” after six U.S. servicemen were killed in recent strikes.

Her position aligns with commentator Tucker Carlson, who has also spoken out against the military action. In an interview with ABC’s Jon Karl, Carlson described the situation in stark terms, calling it “absolutely disgusting and evil.”

Carlson has reportedly attempted to influence policy directly, visiting the White House multiple times in recent weeks to urge against further escalation. However, Trump dismissed those efforts in an interview with The Inner Circle, stating that Carlson’s views have had no impact on his decisions.

The former president also responded to criticism from Kelly, suggesting she should revisit historical context as she evaluates the conflict.

Public Opinion and Political Risks

Kelly also highlighted polling trends that suggest a divide in public opinion, particularly along gender lines. While Republican support for Trump’s actions remains relatively strong, she noted that women are significantly more opposed to the conflict.

“There is no question that the American people don’t understand why we’re doing it,” Kelly said, pointing to broader uncertainty surrounding the purpose of the military engagement.

Her warning extended to the potential political consequences, suggesting that continued involvement could weaken Trump’s support among key voter groups.
