Fox News personality Kat Timpf has introduced a new member of her family, sharing the joyful update just weeks after announcing the sudden death of her father.
The television host spoke candidly in an Instagram video posted on June 25, reflecting on the series of life-changing events she has experienced over the past year before revealing that she had adopted a one-eyed black-and-white cat named Juan.
Timpf described the past year as one of the most challenging periods of her life, recalling her breast cancer diagnosis, the birth of her son just hours later, a double mastectomy, and the unexpected loss of her father, Daniel Timpf.
A lighthearted reveal after months of hardship
In the video, Timpf explained that despite everything she has endured, she still had the freedom to make a happy decision for herself.
Holding the cat, who wore a teal hoodie matching her nail color, she joked that anyone who still has their free will can adopt a one-eyed cat, name him Juan because he has one eye, and dress him in a hoodie.

A day earlier, she had posted a photo of herself with the cat alongside the caption, “Baddies missing body parts,” referencing both Juan’s missing eye and her own double mastectomy.
The pet has also gained an online following through an Instagram account called The Juan-Eyed Cat, where Timpf shares photos of Juan alone as well as pictures of the two together.
Support from followers continues
Many followers responded warmly to the announcement, saying they were happy to see Timpf smiling after everything she has been through. Several praised the cat’s name, while others called Juan adorable and shared their appreciation for tuxedo cats.
The update comes after Timpf revealed in May that her father, Daniel Timpf, died unexpectedly on May 7 at the age of 69.
In her tribute, she wrote that calling him simply her father did not fully capture what he meant to her, describing him as her rock, hero, and best friend. She also remembered him as a painter, sailor, writer, and someone who seemed knowledgeable about every subject.
Timpf was declared cancer-free in April 2025, although she continued to undergo additional surgeries. She previously said the birth of her son, who was Daniel Timpf’s first grandchild, had been meant to mark a joyful new chapter for their family.
