Jesse Watters marked his 48th birthday on July 9 by taking a short break from Fox News, with guest hosts filling in on both The Five and Jesse Watters Primetime while he celebrated the milestone.
Although millions of Americans know Watters for his political commentary and nightly television appearances, his life away from the cameras tells a different story—one centered on family, fatherhood and the experiences that have shaped him over the years.

As viewers noticed his absence from Fox News, many also took a closer look at the man behind the anchor desk, from his upbringing and education to the growing family he now shares with his wife, Emma.
From Philadelphia Roots to National Television
Born on July 9, 1978, Watters spent his childhood in the Germantown and East Falls neighborhoods of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was raised in a family with deep ties to education.
His father, Stephen Hapgood Watters, worked as both a teacher and middle school director, while his mother, Dr. Anne Purvis Watters, built her career as a child psychologist.
His family’s history also includes a connection to American publishing. His maternal great-grandfather served as publisher of The Saturday Evening Post, while his maternal grandfather published Better Homes & Gardens.

Watters attended William Penn Charter School in Philadelphia before relocating with his family to Long Island, New York, where he completed his final year of high school at Friends Academy.
He later graduated from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, earning a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2001. According to the available information, it was during his college years that he developed a strong interest in politics after watching C-SPAN floor speeches and listening to Rush Limbaugh.
Those early experiences helped lay the foundation for a television career that would eventually make him one of Fox News’ most recognizable personalities.
A Proud Father of Four
Away from television, Watters’ greatest role is that of a father.
He shares four children across his blended family, balancing his demanding broadcasting career with raising two daughters and two younger children.
Watters became a father in October 2011 when he and his former wife, Noelle Inguagiato, welcomed twin daughters Sophie and Ellie.

Following the end of that marriage, he married Emma DiGiovine in December 2019, and together they continued growing their family.
In 2020, Watters announced during an episode of The Five that Emma was expecting their first child together. He later revealed they were having a boy by surprising his co-hosts with cupcakes filled with blue frosting.
Their son, Jesse Bailey Watters Jr., was born on April 1, 2021. Sharing the news on Instagram, Watters said he and Emma were thrilled to welcome their son, noting that he arrived on April Fools’ Day weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

The family grew again in April 2023 with the arrival of daughter Georgina “Gigi” Post Watters.
When Watters returned to The Five after paternity leave, he explained that Georgina’s middle name came from Emma’s family, saying it honored her great-grandmother.
Today, Watters is the proud father of Sophie, Ellie, Jesse Jr. and Georgina, with family remaining at the center of his life away from the spotlight.

Family Milestones Beyond the Studio
Although Sophie and Ellie rarely appear in public, they have continued sharing important milestones with their father and stepmother.
In 2019, the twins were photographed ice skating with Emma before later serving as flower girls at Jesse and Emma’s wedding.
Their family celebrations have continued over the years. In 2025, Jesse and Emma shared photographs celebrating Sophie and Ellie’s middle school graduation as the sisters posed together wearing matching gold caps and gowns.

Watters has also occasionally offered viewers glimpses into life with his younger children.
Following Georgina’s birth, he reflected on spending paternity leave at home, saying it allowed him to enjoy valuable time with his family and with his son, Jesse Jr. He also praised Emma, describing her as “spectacular.”
He even shared a lighthearted story about Jesse Jr. trying to feed his baby sister by tossing crackers into her bassinet because he wanted to give her “more.”
Emma has also celebrated important moments for both younger children on social media, sharing heartfelt birthday messages as they reached new milestones.

Watters has previously spoken about the values he hopes to pass on to all four of his children.
“My parents raised me to respect others no matter their status,” he said during a 2021 podcast appearance.
“And to be well-mannered. That’s what I want for my kids, too — no exceptions.”
He has also said he hopes his children pursue work they genuinely enjoy, explaining that hard work and doing something they love will help them build fulfilling lives.
Life Outside Fox News
When he isn’t on television, Watters lives with his family in Bernardsville, New Jersey, where he owns a Southern-style home situated on a 5.6-acre property.

He also enjoys a variety of hobbies outside work, including following the New York Knicks, watching soccer, golfing, hunting and traveling with his loved ones.
As Jesse Watters celebrates his 48th birthday, his time away from Fox News has offered another reminder that beyond the headlines and primetime broadcasts is a devoted father raising four children while balancing one of television’s busiest careers. From family milestones to everyday moments at home, his life outside the studio remains just as important as the work viewers see on screen.
