Napoli is close to completing a new acquisition in the January transfer market, their fifth.
An agreement has practically been reached with Udinese for the central defender Nehuen Perez, an Argentine player born in 2000. The deal could be finalized as early as today for an amount of €18 million plus €2 million in bonuses.
In recent days, De Laurentiis and Pozzo collaborated to reach an agreement, with Napoli initially attempting to include Ostigard as a technical counterpart. However, the Norwegian declined the proposal; if he is to be transferred, he only wants Genoa, with whom he already has a verbal agreement.
For Napoli, this marks the fifth acquisition in the winter transfer window, which has already seen the arrivals of Mazzocchi, Traorè, Ngonge, and Dendoncker. While the Belgian has not been officially announced yet, the statement with the announcement is expected at the latest by today or tomorrow.
Mazzarri, therefore, has been satisfied: the coach pushed for the Argentine defender. Atletico Madrid had a 50% share in the future resale, so they will make some money out of this deal. As for Perez, he will sign a contract for 4 and a half years, earning approximately €1.6 million per season.
