Fox News host Carley Shimkus has shared personal news with viewers, announcing live on air that she is expecting her second child.
The “FOX & Friends First” co-host revealed the update during a Friday morning broadcast, telling colleagues and viewers that her growing family is preparing to welcome another baby later this year.
“I’m having another baby,” Shimkus said on air, confirming that she and her husband, Peter Buchignani, along with their young son Brock, are looking forward to the arrival.
A Growing Family
Shimkus confirmed that she is currently about 22 weeks pregnant and expecting a baby boy, with a due date set for the end of July. She described the experience as a positive one so far, noting that she has been feeling well throughout the pregnancy.
“Baby number two is going to be due at the end of July,” she said, adding that her second child will be another boy.
The announcement means that her son Brock, who was born in January 2023, will soon take on the role of older brother. Shimkus expressed hope that the two siblings will develop a strong lifelong bond.
“I pray that they’re going to be the best of friends throughout their whole entire life,” she said.
Reflecting on her expectations before learning the baby’s gender, Shimkus shared that she had briefly imagined having a daughter. However, she said that once she received the news, she felt certain she was expecting another boy.
“I just knew I was having another boy… I knew this baby is just such a blessing from God,” she said.
On-Air Reactions and Future Plans
The announcement was met with enthusiasm from her co-hosts, who congratulated her during the segment. Shimkus also spoke about her experience raising her first child, describing his energy and personality as something that continues to surprise her.
During the conversation, the topic of a potential move away from New York City also came up. Co-host Brian Kilmeade mentioned the possibility of relocating to Long Island, referencing prior discussions.

Shimkus acknowledged that the idea has been considered, noting that a friend had recently sent her a property listing in Massapequa. She joked about the possibility of becoming neighbors with Kilmeade, adding that it could come with the benefit of nearby help for childcare.
“Maybe we’ll be neighbors,” she said during the exchange.
Sharing the News Beyond the Studio
Following the broadcast, Shimkus also shared the announcement on social media, posting a photo with her husband and son holding a cake decorated with blue icing to reflect the baby’s gender.
In the caption, she signaled the family’s excitement about the next chapter, writing that preparations are already underway for Brock to step into his new role.

Shimkus and Buchignani, who began their relationship in 2013 and married in 2015, have frequently spoken about their appreciation for family life. When welcoming their first child, they described the experience as deeply meaningful.
With a second child on the way, Shimkus’ latest announcement marks another milestone for her family, as she continues balancing her role on air with life at home.
