Amy Robach and T.J. Holmes are moving closer to marriage nearly four years after their relationship first became public, with the engaged couple continuing to keep the biggest details of their upcoming wedding private.
The former GMA3 co-anchors were recently spotted together at Newark Airport outside New York City, where Robach’s engagement ring was clearly visible as they waited for a flight.
According to the Daily Mail, the couple stopped for coffee and sat together with their luggage nearby. An observer who recognized Robach and Holmes told the outlet that the pair appeared “happy and in love.”
The sighting comes as Robach and Holmes prepare for their next major milestone: becoming husband and wife.
Robach and Holmes have already chosen a wedding date
Robach and Holmes announced their engagement last October after three years together.
In May, the couple revealed that they had settled on a date for their wedding, although they stopped short of telling the public exactly when or where the ceremony would take place.
During an appearance on Giuliana Rancic’s Bill and Giuliana: The Podcast, Holmes explained that the couple has something particularly meaningful in mind for how they want to get married.
“There is a way we want to get married that we haven’t revealed necessarily, but it would be very special to us,” Holmes said.
“We can’t say what that is. That’s a big thing for us.”
While their wedding plans remain private for now, Holmes made clear that they have not already secretly tied the knot.
“The wedding hasn’t happened yet,” he said, adding that they do not intend to keep the marriage completely hidden once it happens.
Robach proudly wears her engagement ring
Robach’s ring has become one of the most visible signs that the couple is preparing for marriage.
Holmes proposed with a large yellow sapphire surrounded by smaller diamonds and set on a white gold band.
Despite the couple waiting before publicly announcing their engagement, Robach later revealed that she had actually been wearing the ring openly.
“I was in three massive football stadiums three weekends in a row, wearing my engagement ring very proudly, very excitedly,” she said during a December podcast episode.
Robach said she kept expecting someone to notice the ring and ask about it, but nobody did.
“We haven’t been keeping it a secret, but nobody asked!” Holmes added.
The ring was once again prominently visible during their latest airport appearance.
A summer spent side by side
The couple’s recent travels have provided several glimpses into their life together as their wedding approaches.
On August 25, Robach and Holmes appeared at the US Open in New York, where they also took their podcast on the road for a live appearance.
Robach had previously taken Holmes to Montreal to celebrate his 49th birthday, describing their Canadian getaway on social media as a “fabulous quick trip.”
They also spent time together in East Hampton in July and shared photographs from the outing online.
The series of appearances comes as Robach and Holmes approach another chapter in a relationship that has already transformed both their personal lives and careers.
From former co-anchors to future husband and wife
Robach and Holmes’ relationship became public in November 2022 after the Daily Mail published photographs of the then-GMA3 colleagues spending time together away from work.
Both were married at the time. The attention surrounding their relationship eventually preceded their departures from ABC, while their respective marriages also ended.
Robach and Holmes have since turned their partnership into a professional collaboration as well.
They launched their Amy & T.J. podcast with iHeartMedia in December 2023, using the platform to discuss their relationship, its controversial beginnings and their future together. They expanded their work in September 2024 with Morning Run, a weekday news, entertainment and lifestyle program.
Now, however, much of the attention surrounding the couple is focused on what comes next.
Robach and Holmes have confirmed that a wedding date has been chosen and that they have a particularly personal way they want to marry, but they are keeping those details to themselves until they are ready to share them.
For now, Robach continues to proudly wear her engagement ring as she and Holmes prepare to make their relationship official through marriage.
